Nicholas Kazan

Nicholas Kazan ( born November 30, 1945 in New York City ) is an American playwright, screenwriter, film director and film producer.

Life

Nicholas Kazan was born as the son of auteur Elia Kazan and Molly Day Thatcher. Kazan grew up with his two sisters, brother and half- brother in Connecticut. He studied from 1964 to 1968 at Swarthmore College. He then moved to San Francisco to work as a writer for theater plays. After Kazan already screenplays for films such as Frances, wrote the short distance and Patty, it was a novel adaptation of the drama The Affair of Fortune with which he had his biggest success in 1991 with an Oscar nomination adapted for Best Screenplay.

Nicholas Kazan is married to the director Robin Swicord since 1984, and has given me her a daughter, the actress Zoe Kazan.
