Nicholas Ruxton Moore

Nicholas Ruxton Moore ( born July 21, 1756 Baltimore County, Maryland, † October 7, 1816 in Baltimore, Maryland ) was an American politician. Between 1803 and 1815 he represented two times the state of Maryland in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Nicholas Moore attended the common schools. During the Revolutionary War he served in an independent unit from Baltimore (Gist 's Baltimore Independent Cadets ), in which he rose to captain. In 1794, Moore was also involved in the suppression of the Whiskey Rebellion. Politically, he joined, founded by Thomas Jefferson Democratic- Republican Party. In the years 1801 and 1802, he sat in the House of Representatives from Maryland.

In the congressional elections of 1802 Moore was the fifth electoral district of Maryland in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he took up his new mandate on March 4, 1803. After three re- elections, he was able to complete in Congress until March 3, 1811 four legislative sessions.
