Nicholas Tombazis

Nikolas Tombazis or Tombazis Nikos (Greek Νίκος Τομπάζης, born April 22, 1968 in Athens ) is a Greek automobile designer and design engineer at Ferrari. He is currently the chief designer of the Scuderia Ferrari and developed Formula 1 race car.

Biography

Nikolas Tombazis studied at Imperial College London, where he made his degree in engineering. He then worked for Benetton from 1992 to 1995 and worked from 1997 for Ferrari. Tombazis switched from Ferrari to McLaren, hoping there to Adrian Neweys leaving to follow him as technical director. As this did not take place after his departure to Red Bull Racing, he moved back to Ferrari, which was denied to a press conference at Ferrari McLaren long time. There he was later chief designer of the Scuderia Ferrari.
