Nicholson (lunar crater)

Nicholson is an impact crater on the far western edge of the lunar front side, southeast of the Mare Orientale on the edge of the Montes Rook, northeast of the crater Pettit. The irregular edge of the crater is only slightly eroded, inside there traces show of landslides.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1970 after the American astronomer Seth Barnes Nicholson.
