The Nicholson River is a river in the northeast of the Australian state of Western Australia, or in the extreme northwest of the Northern Territory. It lies mostly in the Kimberley region.

Geography

The river rises near the Koolerong Bore on the Buntine Highway in the Northern Territory on the border of Western Australia. It then flows to the southwest and crosses near the settlement of the Duncan Nicholson Road, which it then follows to the southwest. Having Marella Gorge flows through, he turns to the north and flows on the southeastern edge of the Purnululu National Park, below the Doughboy Hill, in the Ord River.
