Nick Foligno

Nick Foligno ( born October 31, 1987 in Buffalo, New York ) is an American- Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since July 2012 at the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League contract. His father Mike was also a professional hockey player.

Career

Nick Foligno began his career as a hockey player in the team of the U.S. National Team Development Program, where he was active in the 2003/04 season in the North American Hockey League. He then moved to the Sudbury Wolves, for those in the Ontario Hockey League, he was on the ice, the following three seasons long. During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2006 in the first round than a total of 28 players from the Ottawa Senators.

For Senators, he gave in the 2007/ 08 season his debut in the National Hockey League, announced where he simultaneously for their farm team in the American Hockey League, the Binghamton Senators played. In the game year 2008/ 09, the attacker ran in 81 of 82 games of the regular season and scored a total of 32 scorer points, including 17 goals.

On 1 July 2012, the Ottawa Senators him transferred in exchange for Marc Methot to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Internationally

Foligno participated with the U.S. national team at the World Championships in 2009 and 2010. In so far 15 World Cup matches, the striker scored three goals and two assists.
