Nick Kamen

Nick Kamen, actually Nicholas Ivor Kamen, ( born April 15, 1962 in Harlow ( Essex ), England ) is a British fashion model, singer and songwriter. Kamen was the mid-1980s with a commercial for the jeans brand Levi's is known in which he undressed in a laundromat up on the boxer shorts. He was then hired by Madonna and Stephen Bray, and had produced with their single " Each Time You Break My Heart" in 1986 a Europe-wide top ten hit, and had in 1990 a second major success with "I Promised Myself".

Life

His first appearance was in 1984 when Ray Petri placed his photo on the front page of the magazine The Face. The photo showed him with a ski hat, an orange turtleneck sweater and a pair of Ray -Ban "Aviator" sunglasses. His lips were whitened with zinc and he wore a yellow sticking plaster over an eyebrow. Above him was to read in large letters the word "HOT". Irony in the middle of a cold winter in London.

Based on its popularity and with the support of Madonna created in 1986, the single Each Time You Break My Heart, with whom he was able to land an international chart success. In the U.S., the single won the first place on the Billboard Dance Charts.

Two years later he released his second album Us. It was produced by Patrick Leonard, and as with his debut single was on the song Tell Me Madonna again be heard as a background singer ( in the video it is only seen as a short photo display ). In Italy Tell Me took one weeks # 1 on the charts.

The greatest success of his career Kamen celebrated in the spring of 1990. Promised Myself I, the first single from his fourth album Move Until We Fly, conquered both in Germany and Switzerland, the top ten of the singles charts. In Austria, the single occupied from June 1990 for six weeks # 1 on the charts. A remix of I Promised Myself 2004 could not place in the charts.
