Nicklas Grossmann

Nicklas Grossman (born 22 January 1985 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who plays since February 2012 when the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League on the position of the defender.

Career

Grossman played during his time at junior Gnesta IK and later to 2005 Södertälje SK, where he made the leap to the first team from the Elitserien.

After being selected in the NHL Entry Draft in the second round in 2004 ranked 56th by the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League, the defender moved in the summer of 2005 to North America. First Grossmann came exclusively with the Iowa Stars in the American Hockey League action. His debut in the NHL team the Dallas Stars was allowed to enter the end of the 2006/07 season the Swede. He brought it to eight NHL games prior to the start of the play-offs, in which he had to give back for the regulars. For the 2007 /08 season he was one - also due to injuries by teammates - fixed squad of NHL teams. From the season 2008/ 09 he played the following three and a half years of playing exclusively in the NHL team.

On 16 February 2012, the Dallas Stars him transferred in exchange for a second-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2012 and a third-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2013 to the Philadelphia Flyers.

Internationally

Grossmann represented his native Sweden for the first time at the U20 World Youth Championship 2005, where he was captain of the team, but only finished sixth. With 37 penalty minutes in six tournament games, he was the meistbestrafte player of the competition.

In the senior he graduated from the World Championships in 2009 and 2011. Doing so, he won the 2009 bronze and 2011 silver medal. Overall, he played 14 games in two years and prepared a hit before.
