Nicky Byrne

Nicky Byrne ( born October 9, 1978 in Dublin, Ireland as Nicholas Bernard James Adam Byrne ) is an Irish pop singer and belonged until 2012, when the group was disbanded, the pop group Westlife.

Career

Prior to Westlife Byrne played professional football. In 1995, he was inducted into the youth team of Leeds United and won with the club in 1997 the FA Youth Cup. Most recently, he was at the Cobh Ramblers under contract and played 11 games in the second Irish Football League as a goalkeeper. Byrne played games for Ireland in the U15, U17 and U18 national team. In 1998 he became a member of the boy band Westlife. This he achieved several number one hits in different European countries.

Private

Byrnes parents are Yvonne and Nikki Byrne ( itself also a singer ). He has two siblings. Nicky Byrne is since 5 August 2003 Georgina Ahern, daughter of former Irish Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, and sister of the novelist Cecelia Ahern, married. They live in Malahide, a suburb of Dublin, very close from Georgina's parents' house. On 20 April 2007 they were parents of two boys and on October 23, 2013 a daughter. On 3 November 2009 Nicky's father died suddenly and unexpectedly of a heart attack.
