Nicky Salapu

Nicky Vitolio Salapu (born 13 September 1980 in American Samoa ) is an American- Samoan football goalkeeper.

Career

In the club

Salapu played between 2000 and 2008 for the Panza East FC in his homeland. With the club he was in 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2005, a total of four American- Samoan champion. In 2008 he moved to Austrian amateur club SC Mauerbach. In August 2009, he left shortly the SC wall Bach and changed until the winter break on loan to Pago Youth. After three years in Austria returned at Wall Bach, Salapu permanently to American Samoa back and signed for Pansa East. After three months of Pansa East, Salapu moved abroad again, and signed November 20, 2011 at the Indonesian club Mitra Kukar FC. In the summer of 2013 he returned back to Indonesia and moved back to American Samoa, where he now plays for FC West Panza.

In the National Team

On 11 April 2001 Salapu conceded 31 goals in the match against Australia. He still holds a world record. Some experts claim that Salapus parades would have prevented an even greater defeat. In the eight appearances for his country the keeper conceded a total of 91 goals.
