Niclas Ekberg ( born December 23, 1988 in Ystad ) is a Swedish handball player.

Career

The 1.91 meter tall and 96 kilogram right winger was standing by 2010 at the Swedish club Ystad IF HF under contract. With Ystad he played in the EHF Challenge Cup (2009/ 2010). Since summer 2010, Ekberg went on for the Danish first division side AG København, with whom he won the championship in 2011 and 2012. Following the bankruptcy of AG København in July 2012, Ekberg was contract-free, and signed at the beginning of the 2012/13 season with THW Kiel a contract until 2015. Using the THW 2013 he won the DHB Cup.

Niclas Ekberg completed so far 98 international matches for the Swedish national team, in which he scored 400 hits. At the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London, he won the silver medal with Sweden and was charged with 50 -goal top scorer.
