Niclas Jensen

Niclas Jensen ( born August 17, 1974 in Copenhagen ) is a retired Danish footballer, who is a consultant today.

Career

Jensen is a Danish national team and joined the 2003/04 season for approximately € 1.25 million from Manchester City from England to Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga 1. Jensen plays on the left side and can be used both in defense and in midfield. After he had won a regular place in 2004, he lost that with the start of the second half of 2005. This was a tactical change of the game system of coach Bert van Marwijk.

For the Danish national Jensen participated in the Football World Cup 2002 in South Korea and Japan, as well as at the European Football Championship 2004 in Portugal. Jensen, he played 62 times for Denmark, but could not score a goal. His younger brother Daniel Jensen plays for Werder Bremen since 2004 also in the 1st Bundesliga.

On 15 July 2005 it was announced that Jensen plays from the 2005/06 season at FC Fulham in the English Premier League. The transfer fee was about 750,000 euros. In 43 league games he scored two goals for Dortmund.

For the season 2006/ 07 Jensen moved back to his home to FC Copenhagen. With the capital club, where he already played from 1998 to early 2002, he won the 2007 Danish championship. 2009 succeeded even that " Double" ( league and cup ). On 23 October 2009 Niclas Jensen announced his career end the winter break of the season 2009/10.

His last assignment as a player he was when he came off the bench in the 2-0 victory in the group stage match of the UEFA Europa League, against CFR Cluj in injury time for Martin Vingaard on December 3, 2009.
