Nicola Sturgeon

Nicola Sturgeon ( born July 19, 1970 in Irvine, Scotland) is a Scottish politician (SNP ) and Deputy First Minister of Scotland and Minister of Health in the Cabinet and Cabinet Salmond Salmond I II

Life

Sturgeon visited in her hometown of Irvine, a public school and then took at the University of Glasgow on a study of law, graduating with a diploma. Already at the age of 16 she joined the Scottish National Party, which seeks the Scottish independence from the United Kingdom.

Nicola Sturgeon is married and lives in Glasgow.

Political activity

After unsuccessful candidacies for the House of Commons in 1992 and 1997, the current deputy First Minister was first elected to the Scottish Parliament in 1999, in which it has been represented since this election without interruption as MP for Glasgow.

From 2004 Sturgeon had for three years chaired the SNP Group, until they have been appointed by the Scottish Parliament elections in 2007 to the Deputy First Minister and Minister of Health. The SNP government under Alex Salmond was confirmed in 2011 and since then can be based on an absolute majority of parliamentary seats.
