Nicola Vizzoni

Nicola Vizzoni (* November 4, 1973 in Pietrasanta ) is an Italian hammer thrower.

He celebrated his biggest success by winning the silver medal in the hammer throw at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. He also won in 2001 both at the Universiade in Beijing as well as in the Mediterranean Games in Tunis the gold medal.

Furthermore, he participated in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing in part. In Athens, he finished in tenth place, in Beijing, he missed the final round. He started from 1997 to 2011 in eight World Championships in Athletics and reached the finals three times here. He scored his best result in fourth place at the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton. In his first three appearances at European Athletics Championships in 1998 he did not come on the ninth addition, he finished in 2006 in Gothenburg, but in 2010 he won the silver medal in Barcelona.

In addition, he was eleven times Italian champion in the hammer throw (1998, 2000-2007 and 2009-2010 ).
