Nicolas Dupont-Aignan

Nicolas Dupont- Aignan ( born March 7, 1961 in Paris ) is a French conservative and Gaullist politician, Mayor and MP of Yerres (department Essonne ). He is president of the new party DLR and in 2005 it was among the opponents of the EU Constitution project. He was Co - President of the EUDemokraten.

Biography

He studied at the Institut d' études politiques de Paris, University of Paris- Dauphine and later at the ENA. 1995 Nicolas Dupont -Aignan was elected on the first ballot for mayor of Yerres.

In 1997 he succeeded as the only conservative politicians in the election to the French National Assembly to eliminate a socialist incumbent from office.

In his old party, the neogaullistisch - right UMP, he belonged to the minority of souverainistes. He ran twice unsuccessfully for the party presidency and was able to combine a strong faction behind its name. He was up to his separation from the UMP in 2007 for intra-party flow Debout la République (DLR). Nicolas Dupont- Aignan in 1999 had Debout la République founded with other members of the former RPR.

Dupont- Aignan is failed to collect 500 signatures of support from elected representatives to compete in the French 2007 presidential election can. Nicolas Dupont- Aignan is married and has two children.
