Nicolas Gessner

Nicolas Gessner ( born August 17, 1931 in Budapest ) is a Swiss theater director, film director and screenwriter.

The son of a Swiss father and a Hungarian studied Romance in Zurich. He then worked as an assistant director Oskar Wäterlin, Leopold Lindtberg, Jean- Louis Barrault and 1957 in Hollywood with Henry Koster at my husband Gottfried.

Then Gessner acted as a director at the Municipal Theater of Lucerne. At this time he also began the production of semi-documentary short films. Since 1965 he has directed several internationally staffed full-length feature films. However, greater success had only the Canadian psychological thriller The girl at the end of the street with the young Jodie Foster, which earned him a nomination for the Saturn Award for Best Director.
