Nicolaus Ferber

Nicholas Ferber ( * 1480 in Herborn, † April 15, 1535 in Toulouse ) was a member of the Franciscan Order.

He was Guardian of the Franciscan convents of Marburg and Brühl, preacher of Cologne and from 1529 to 1532 Provincial of the Province of Cologne. He was a staunch opponent of the Reformation. Due to its resolute opposition to the use of new movement, he was especially known for his performance in 1530 Stagefyr on the Lord's Day in Copenhagen a year, which is Danish and means as much as firebrand. He was also a Commissioner General of France and Spain. During this time, he promoted particularly the Franciscan Order and the mission.
