Nicole Reinhardt

Nicole Reinhardt ( born January 2, 1986 in Lampertheim ) is a former German canoeist. In 2008 she was Olympic champion in canoe racing.

Career

Nicole Reinhardt began her career in WSV Lampert home and at the regional power base in Mannheim. At the 2005 World Championships in Zagreb, she became world champion in one kayak over 500 m and four-man kayak about 200 m. At the 2007 World Championships in Duisburg, she got together with Fanny Fischer in the double kayak world championship gold over 200 and 500 meters.

The following year, she qualified for participation in the Summer Olympics in Beijing. There she was in the four-man kayak on the 500 - meter distance, together with Fanny Fischer, Katrin Wagner -Augustin and Conny Waßmuth Olympic champion, in a kayak, twos over the same distance they were together with Fanny Fischer Fourth. At the 2011 World Championships in Szeged Reinhardt was the second time in her career, world champion in one kayak over 500 m. At the Olympic Games in London, she had to do without for health reasons.

Reinhardt won a total of 16 gold medals at world and European championships. She was elected in 2008 Athlete of the Year in Hessen. The city Lampertheim named her an honorary citizen. 2013, it declared its withdrawal from competitive sports.
