Nidderau

The city is located on the northeastern edge of the Nidderau Rhine -Main area in the Main- Kinzig district, in Hesse.

Nidderau is the fifth largest city in the Main- Kinzig district.

Geographical Location

The city is located in the southern Wetterau, bordering the southwestern foothills of the Vogelsberg, but still belongs administratively to the Main -Kinzig -Kreis ( district of Hanau in the 1970s ). The river Nidder gave the city its name. Nidderau was in 2007 (as well as in the years 2004 and 2005) with 1883 hours of sunshine the sunniest town in Hesse.

History

Incorporations

The city Nidderau created by the merger of the city Windecken and the community Heldenbergen in the course of municipal reform of the federal state of Hesse on 1 January 1970. For this reason, the Nidderauer city arms up today sets composed of only the Windecker and heroes Berger coat of arms.
