Nieder-Erlenbach is, since August 1, 1972, the northernmost district and local district of Frankfurt am Main.

Location

Nieder-Erlenbach, founded as a scattered village, located in the southern foothills of the Wetterau at the same Erlenbach. The Frankfurt main station is located approximately 9 kilometers from Bad Vilbel (City Hall) about 2.5 kilometers. Petterweil is 3 km to the north. After Dortelweil in the east is like to Nieder- Eschbach in the West about 2 km. In the southwest lies Harheim and to the southeast mass home every 2 km.

History

In the year 779 Nieder-Erlenbach was mentioned as Arilbach ( Erlenbach ) for the first time in the Lorsch Codex: a woman Meginburc endowed the monastery Lorsch with their entire property located there. The exit Frankfurt Nieder-Eschbach at the Federal Highway 661 is reached in 6 km. Another connection to the city center and the A661 direction Bad Vilbel leads to the main road 3, connecting mass home.
