Geography

Geographical Location

The entirely rural community Niederbergkirchen lies in Southeast Upper Bavaria in the tertiary hill country between the lowlands of Rott and Isen about 9 km north of the county town Mühldorf and 7 km south of Neumarkt-Sankt Veit.

History

Niederbergkirchen was first mentioned in the Notitia Arnonis the Archbishop of Salzburg Arno in the year 788 AD. The Cistercian monastery in Raitenhaslach was until the secularization of the largest landowners in the municipality area. The place belonged to Rentamt Landshut and the Neumarkt district court of the Electorate of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818 the municipality Niederbergkirchen.

Incorporations

On 1 May 1978, until then independent municipality Oberhofen was incorporated.

The municipal tax revenue amounted to the equivalent of € 398,000 in 1999, which amounted to the trade tax revenues ( net) converted € 50,000.

Culture and sights

Building

The Catholic parish church St. Blasius was re- built as a successor of a Romanesque building 1467-1484 in late Gothic style. After the Baroque style 1715-32 1883-93 the church was remodeled in the Gothic Revival style ( re-gothicised ). The adjacent rectory shows baroque design.

Economy, agriculture and forestry

There were 1998 in the field of agriculture and forestry not, in industry 69, and in trade and transport, no social insurance contributions at the workplace.
