Geography

Geographical Location

Niederlangen between Papenburg and Meppen on the Ems. The community belongs to the Samtgemeinde Lathen, which has its headquarters in the town of Lathen.

Neighboring municipalities are in the north, the municipality Sustrum, in the east the communities Fresenburg and Lathen, in the south the municipality Oberlangen and to the west the town of Haren.

History

The church is first mentioned in the year 1000. 1884 48 denarii have been discovered from the Roman period in Niederlangen by the farmer H. Paschen.

The coat of arms shows geographical and topographical and historical elements of the community Niederlangen.
