Niedermohr

Low Moor is a municipality in the district of Kaiserslautern, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Landstuhl.

Geography

The municipality is situated approximately 30 km north- west of Kaiserslautern between the biosphere reserve Palatinate Forest and the Natural Park Saar -Hunsrück.

Districts are low- Mohr, Mohr church, Schrollbach and Reuschenbach. The municipality also includes the residential places Eilbacherhof and Lerchenhof.

History

The municipality was established on June 7, 1969 by the union of previously independent municipalities Low Moor, Reuschenbach and Schrollbach.

Policy

Became famous for low Mohr by a daily news report of 19 September 2005 as " choice - oracle ". Of all the churches in Germany the percentage election result in low Mohr in three consecutive general elections was the overall German result at the percentage next. Also, almost four years later, on September 24, 2009, Lower Moor was again mention, because of the same issue. The Ramstein- Miesbacher Association mayoral elections 2007 Low Moor was by all participating municipalities also closest to the official results.

Parish council

The local council in Lower Moor consists of 16 council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 a personalized proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Coat of arms

The blazon of the arms is: "Under golden, fold away by a blue wave beam main shield, is a growing rotbewehrter black eagle, split by silver and black, the right one continuous black cross, left rotbewehrter and bezungter golden lion, a golden reed piston holding ".

It was approved in 1979 by the district government Neustadt. The Palatinate lion recalls the former membership of the three districts to Electoral Palatinate.

Traffic

The public transport system is integrated into the transport association Rhein- Neckar. The place has a stop on the railway line Landstuhl - Kusel.

The community is through the A 62 (Exit: Glan- Münchweiler ) connected to the motorway network.
