History

Murach was mentioned for the first time in 1110. The village was part of the Palatinate and the Electorate of Bavaria since 1777 and formed a closed Hofmark the barons of Murach whose seat was Castle Niedermurach. Created in 1818 the current municipality.

Incorporations

On January 1, 1972, the municipalities Nottersdorf and Wagnern were incorporated. On July 1, 1972 Pertolzhofen and Rottendorf were added. At the same time, the resolution of the county was Oberviechtach. The community Niedermurach heard since the newly formed district Schwandorf, the 1973 district Schwandorf was called up on May 1, in Bavaria.
