Lower bei Kallnach was until December 31, 2012, a municipality in the administrative district in the canton of Bern Seeland in Switzerland. On January 1, 2013, it merged with Kallnach

In addition to the municipality existed a civic community with the family name Burri, Köhli, Tillmann and Weber. Partner community is Nisowice in the Czech Republic.

Geography

The neighboring communities of north clockwise beginning were Kallnach, Bargen BE, Radelfingen, Golaten, Kerzers and Fräschels.

In the southeast of the former municipality is the reservoir of low- Ried, which is only partly on the former municipality. He belongs to the inventory of the Ramsar Convention, it is a wetland for waterfowl and waders of international importance. From there, a part of the Aare is passed through a tunnel to the power station Kallnach.

The voter shares of the parties at the national elections of 2011 were: SVP 41.6 %, BDP 19.8 %, SP 17.4 %, GPS 6.2 %, EPP 5.0 %, glp 3.1 %, SD 2.0 %, FDP 1.7 %, Jimy Hofer plus 1.3 %, CVP 0.3 %, EDU 0.3 %.

Train

Lower Ried does not have a school more; go for the 1st to 9th grade children after Kallnach respectively from the seventh grade in the secondary school in Aarberg.
