Niederweiler, Bitburg-Prüm

Niederweiler is a municipality in the district of Bitburg -Prüm, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Bitburg -Land.

Geography

Low- village located in the south-west Eifel, about 10 km ² northwest of the county town of Bitburg. The municipal area extends along the ridge between Nims and Prüm. The spatial location is at 410 m above sea level. NN, within the entire district is the lowest point on the Prüm to 280 m above sea level. NN achieved the highest point is 455 m above sea level. NN. History

From an early, sedentary population of the municipality is evidence remains from the pre-Christian era. Attractions

Landmark of the village is the 1700 built and well preserved Branch Church of St. Blaise. In 1738 the restored stone altar was regarded as exemplary. At the Church of the Fourteen Holy Helpers, the panels and two niche crosses from the years 1600 and 1620 are attached, which also known regionally the building.
