Niederwinkling is a municipality in the Lower Bavarian district of Straubing-Bogen and a member of the administrative community Schwarzach.

Geography
Geographical location
The municipality is located in a border Niederwinkling terrace of the Danube Valley, the so-called low Winklinger edge bay. In addition, include foothills of the Bavarian Forest ( Which the mountain ) to do so. The community is thus between " Gaeu " ( Gäuboden ) and " woid " (Bavarian Forest). Another term for parts of the municipal area is " Heiwisch ". The municipality is part of the Planning Region Donau-Wald.

There are the districts Niederwinkling and Walt village.
History
Niederwinkling belonged to Rentamt Straubing and the district court Mitterfels of the electorate and later the Kingdom of Bavaria. The monastery of Metten had an open Hofmark here. Created in 1818, the community Niederwinkling. The competent authority for the municipality parish called contrast Oberwinkling. 1908-1910, a large parish church was built in the middle of the two places, the two villages grew largely together. As part of local government reform in the community and with Waltendorf Which mountain a part of the former municipality Pfelling was incorporated.
Which mountain is an ancient noble residence. Little remains of the old castle, a " arx perelegans in monte " ( original quote Wening ) can be found on the "Schlossberg" yet. Is first mentioned in the year 750 AD Which mountain. Because the Benedictine Niederaltaich owned vineyards here. Around 1100 the Berger What are attested, whose gender is probably extinct in the 14th century. From then on it was changing the owner of the Hofmark Which mountain. From 1658 the Benedictine determined from Oberalteich the history of the place, who built a priory. The last nobles, Catherine of Pürching, had died childless, the Hofmark bequeathed to the monastery. Already in the same year they built on what is now State Street a " Hoftaverne " and brewery. The secularization brought secular owners. The conditions for village grand and stately brewery, there are now home to the famous Landgasthof Buchner. The castle, however, probably no longer legally maintained by the Fathers, as located on the mountain and therefore to achieve tedious, fell gradually. Legal beautifully situated on a ledge of the castle hill above the Danube level, the Church of St. Mauritius is from the early Baroque period.
Incorporations
On 1 January 1971 Walt village was incorporated. On 1 January 1978 was followed by What Mountain and three other smaller hamlets of the eastern part of the former municipality Pfelling.

It was in 1998 according to official statistics in manufacturing and 500 in trade and transport, no social insurance contributions at the workplace.
