Niels Bohr Institute

The Niels Bohr Institute (Danish Niels Bohr institutet ), founded March 3, 1921, named after the physicist Niels Bohr, is an institution of the Danish research in the fields of astronomy, geophysics, nanotechnology, particle physics, quantum mechanics and biophysics.

Since 1 January 1993 the Niels Bohr Institute, Geophysical Institute, Astronomical Observatory and the Hans Christian Ørsted Institute, named after the physicist Hans Christian Ørsted, been joined. The successor, Niels Bohr Institutet for Astronomy, Fysik above Geofysik is affiliated with the University of Copenhagen.
