Nieuw Nederlandsch Biografisch Woordenboek

The Nieuw Nederlandsch Biographical Woordenboek ( NNBW ) ( German: New Biographical Dictionary Netherlands ) is a Dutch personnel Encyclopedia, published 1911-1937 in ten parts in Sijthoff, Leiden, edited by Philip Christiaan Petrus Johannes Blok and Molhuysen. It includes short biographies of more than 22,000 well-known Dutch, who were born before 1910.

Follow-up project of NNBW is the Biographical Woordenboek van Nederland ( BWN ).

The biographical reference book was digitized in a common project of the Instituut voor Nederlandse Geschiedenis (Institute for Dutch History, ING ) and the Digital Bibliotheek voor de Nederlandse Letteren ( DBNL ) and is available free of charge on the websites of the respective devices.
