Nigel Bond

Nigel Graham Bond ( * November 15, 1965 in Darley Dale, Derbyshire ) is an English snooker player.

Career

Nigel Bond had his first major success in 1989, when he was English Amateur champion. He was subsequently pro and was already in 1990 in his first major final, but lost at the Grand Prix Stephen Hendry with 5:10.

In 1995, Bond in the final of the World Snooker Championship, where he lost again against Stephen Hendry. His best finish in the snooker world ranking he reached 5th place in in 1996 / 97th This season he was with the British Open his only tournament of the Main Tour win ( 9-8 final win over John Higgins). Bond also won several tournaments, which were not among the ranking tournaments, so the 1996 Malta Grand Prix and 1997, the Regal Scottish Masters.

His highest ever break of 140 points, he played the 2004 Totesport Grand Prix.

2009 Bond won the snooker tournament at the 8th World Games in Kaohsiung. He also won the invitational tournament Snooker Shoot -Out 2011 by a playoff victory over Robert Milkins. In October 2012, he won the World Seniors Championship by Welsh Tony Chappel defeating in the final 2-0.
