Nigel de Jong

Nigel de Jong ( born November 30, 1984 in Amsterdam) is a Dutch footballer who is mainly used as a defensive midfielder. Since August 2012, he is under contract with AC Milan.

He is the son of Jerry de Jong, who was also a professional footballer.

Career

De Jong, who played his entire youth at Ajax, made ​​his professional debut on October 19, 2002 in a game against AZ Alkmaar, which ended 6-2. His debut for the Dutch national football team followed on 31 March 2004 against France. De Jong was also in the squad for the 2008 European Football Championship, where he completed three games.
