Nigel Spackman

Nigel James Spackman ( born December 2, 1960 in Romsey ) is a former English footballer and football coach.

Life and career

Spackman began his playing career at FC Andover. In 1980, he signed a professional contract with AFC Bournemouth, which he left three years later for a transfer fee of about € 51,000 towards Chelsea. His debut for the Blues he gave in 1983 against Derby County in which he also scored a goal. With the Blues in 1984, he managed to climb to the highest English league. After a dispute with the then coach John Hollins Spackman joined in 1987 for the equivalent of about € 590,000 for Liverpool. With Liverpool he lost two League Cup final and a cup final. In 1989 he spent a year at the Queens Park Rangers. After the brief appearance in London, he moved north to the Rangers, where he three times Scottish champion ( 1991, 1992, 1993), once won the Scottish Cup (1992 ), and the 1991 Scottish League Cup fetched. In 1992, the midfielder returned to Chelsea. After four years with the Blues, he left his career as player-manager of Sheffield United finish to 1998. After his playing career he coached from 2000 to 2002 the Barnsley FC and in 2006, shortly Millwall FC.
