Nightfall in Middle-Earth (English, Nightfall in Middle-Earth ') is the sixth studio album by the speed and power metal band Blind Guardian. It originated in 1998 in the "Twilight Hall Studios " in Krefeld, the "Karo Studios " in Brackelsberg and the "Sweet Silence Studios " in Copenhagen and was released on 24 April 1998. It also appeared as Picture- LP. Through the melodies and the use of chorus parts an epic atmosphere is created.

Nightfall in Middle-Earth is the first album Blind Guardian that was released in the United States.

The concept album takes on musical tales from JRR Tolkien's Silmarillion from the fantasy world of Middle-earth. The chronological story begins with the theft of Silmarili and the departure of the Noldor ( Feanor below ) from Valinor and ends with the fifth battle, Nirnaeth Arnoediad, and the rupture of the alliance between humans and Elves.

The sequence of the songs is interrupted by brief narrative passages such as War of Wrath, The Minstrel or Face the Truth.

In June 2007, the album on the occasion of the 20 - year band anniversary of Charlie Bauerfeind was provided digitally remastered and with the bonus track Harvest of Sorrow.
