Nighthawk Records

Nighthawk Records is an American record label that was founded in 1976 by Leroy Pierson.

On the label are in the first years since its inception, especially highly critically acclaimed compilations of works before and recorded after the Second World War bluesmen such as Robert Nighthawk ( the namesake of the label ), Professor Longhair, Sonny Boy Williamson II, Robert Lockwood Jr., Little Walter, Lightnin ' Hopkins and Big Joe Williams has been published, along with an album with recent recordings of Henry Townsend.

In 1980, Nighthawk Records have reoriented on Jamaican music and - with the exception of an album with blues songs of the founder and owner Leroy Jodie Pierson (1988 ) - produced nurmehr reggae recordings.
