Nigrinian

Nigrinianus ( Nigrinian, full name is probably Marcus Aurelius Nigrinianus; † 284 ) was a son of the Roman emperor Carinus.

Nigrinianus was after his birth as heir to the throne of his father. However, whether his wife Magnia Urbica or one of the many attributed to him by the ( notoriously unreliable, however ) Historia Augusta mistresses was the mother who is not occupied. Do not rule out is the fact that Nigrinianus a son of Paulina, sister of Carinus, and thus his nephew was "only", such as - the only surviving - inscription on a statue suggests.

Nigrinianus died in infancy 284 (or latest in early 285), likely to have received the title of Caesar, without his lifetime. After his death, he was raised to divus and appears as such on coins ( with the crown of rays ).

His father Carinus defeated in July 285 Diocletian in the struggle for supremacy.
