Niklas Axelsson

Niklas Axelsson ( born May 15, 1972 in Mora ) is a former Swedish cyclist.

Before turned pro, he won stages at the GP Tell and in the Rapport Tour. Then he went in 1997 Palmans internships, got for the following season but a contract with Scrigno - Gaerne. In 2001 he moved to Mercury Viatel, where he celebrated his biggest success to date. He chose the sixth stage of the Tour de la Région Wallonne for themselves. He later tested positive for doping at the World Championships in Lisbon and was imposed a two year ban. In 2005, he then went to Universal Caffè.

In September 2009, Axelsson was again tested positive for EPO and life- long disabled.
