Niklas Skoog

Niklas Skoog ( born June 15, 1974 in Gothenburg ) is a former Swedish football player. The striker was top scorer in Allsvenskan and came between 2002 and 2004 in the Swedish national team for use.

Career

Skoog played in the Youth for Hovås Västra Frölunda IF and IF. 1991 debuted the striker Västra Frölunda for in Allsvenskan. After with 17 goals, he was top scorer in the league in 1995, he moved the following summer for MSV Duisburg in the Bundesliga. Here he could hardly prevail in two seasons and went in 1998 to the 1st FC Nuremberg. But again, it was the success denied and after the descent of the club in the 2nd Bundesliga, he barely came into play. Therefore, he returned to Sweden and signed for Örebro SK, where he returned to its former Torgefahr.

In summer 2001, Skoog changed as the successor of Zlatan Ibrahimović for Malmö FF. In 2003 he was again top scorer in Allsvenskan, this time with 22 goals this season. A year later he could mi celebrate the club winning the Swedish championship title. In 2005 and 2006 he came because of injuries rarely used. In the season of 2007 he came back more often used and scoring five goals in 16 league games. However, he was only irregularly for starting and after ten games in the following season he was in early August for the remaining game time at Mjallby AIF borrowed in the Superettan. On 4 August 2008 he made his debut in the 0-3 defeat against Väsby United for his new club and was subsequently with five goals for the club in eighth place in the standings in the second division. After the end of the half series, he initially returned to Malmö FF, before disbanding in March 2009, his contract with the club and announced the End of career.

Skoog played eight times for the Swedish national team. In addition, he played 14 Under-21 caps for Sweden.
