Nikola Peković

Nikola Peković ( born January 3, 1986 in Bijelo Polje, Yugoslavia ) is a Montenegrin professional basketball player who plays at a height of 2.10 m on the position of the center.

Club career

His career began Nikola Peković in the youth teams of Budućnost Podgorica, where he played until 2003. He received his first professional contract with Serbian club Atlas Belgrade, where he remained for two seasons. 2005 moved to Peković traditional club Partizan Belgrade where he next three championships among other twice won the Serbian Cup in the next few years and was first used in the ULEB Euro League. After Peković in the 2007/2008 season got his big break there and managed with Partizan to the quarter finals of the competition, he moved in 2008 to Panathinaikos Athens to Greece. That same summer he was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves at 31 out of the NBA draft. With Panathinaikos Athens Pekovic won the 2009 Greek Cup, the championship and the ULEB Euro League and was chosen in the starting five of the tournament.

National

With the Serbian Youth National Peković participated in two U-20 European Championships. During 2005, only the bronze medal was won, the team reached the 2006 gold medal. Since the independence of Montenegro Peković is active for the national team.
