Nikolai Alexeyevich Titov

Nikolai Alexeyevich Titov (Russian Николай Алексеевич Титов; * 28 Apriljul / May 10 1800greg in Saint Petersburg, .. .. † 10 Dezemberjul / December 22 1875greg ibid.) was a Russian composer.

The son of Alexei Nikolayevich Titov hit like his father, a military career a. Under the influence of his friends Mikhail Glinka and Alexander Dargomischski he turned in later years increasingly to composition. He was the first Russian composer whose songs attracted attention abroad and was therefore regarded as the "father of Russian song". He also composed pieces for piano, dances and marches.
