Nikolai Drozdetsky

Nikolai Vladimirovich Drosdezki (Russian Николай Владимирович Дроздецкий; born June 14, 1957 in Kolpino, Russian SFSR, † November 24, 1995 in Saint Petersburg ) was a Russian ice hockey player.

Career

Drosdezki played from 1974 to 1979 and from 1986 to 1989 for SKA Leningrad. In 1979 he joined the then elite club HK CSKA Moscow. Here he remained until 1986, when he moved to Sweden until 1995 and played for Borås HC. In all, he scored 252 goals in 503 games in the Soviet league.

He was appointed to the team of the Soviet national ice hockey team early on. On April 15, 1980, he was in a game against Finland for the first time for the Sbornaja on the ice. His international career was crowned with the gold medal at the 1984 Winter Olympics. For the national team, he scored 64 goals in 109 internationals. The Ice Hockey World Championships, he was twice World Champion and his team (1981 and 1982). In 1981, he was inducted into the "Russian Hockey Hall of Fame". On 3 May 1986, he played his last international match.

He died of complications from diabetes.
