Nikolai Nikiforov

Nikolai Nikiforov Anatoljevich (Russian Николай Анатольевич Никифоров; born June 22, 1982 in Kazan ) is a Russian politician. Since May 2012, he is Minister of Communication and Media in the Government of the Russian Federation.

Nikiforov completed a business degree from the University of Kazan. In 2004 he was deputy head of the IT company Sowremennye Internet Technologii and since 2005 he was a management consultant to the Russian republic of Tatarstan, responsible for the IT sector.

Since 2010 he was Minister of Telecommunications of the Republic of Tatarstan and in May 2012 he was appointed Minister of Communications and Media Government of Russia. Nikiforov was at the time of his appointment only 29 years old and is the youngest minister in the history of the Russian Federation.
