Nikolaus III, Prince Esterházy

Prince Nicholas III. Esterházy de Galantha ( born June 25, 1817 in Regensburg, † January 28, 1894 in Vienna) was the ninth Heir of the Hungarian nobility Esterházy family, the richest family in Central Europe.

Life

Spent his youth Prince Nikolaus not, as was customary for his kind in Hungary at Schloss Esterházy, but in England, where his father Paul III. Anton as k.k. Messenger was active. There he met his wife, Sarah Frederica Caroline Child Villiers, daughter of George Child Villiers, 5th Earl of Jersey, and relatives of the famous George Villiers, 1st Duke of Buckingham.
