Nikolaus Knoepffler

Knoepffler Nicholas ( born July 17, 1962 in Miltenberg ) is a German philosopher and holder of the Chair for Applied Ethics at the Friedrich -Schiller- University Jena.

Life

He was trained by Jesuits acquired the license for theology in Rome and was in philosophy ( Rome) and political science ( Lüneburg) doctorate. The Dr. phil. hab. in philosophy he acquired in Munich. In 2002 he was a visiting professor at Georgetown University, Washington DC, and in 2006 at the Uehiro Centre of Practical Ethics at the University of Oxford. He is at the University of Jena since 2002 and head of the Chair of Applied Ethics Ethics in the Sciences and the Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences and the überfakultären ethics center. He is the founder and president of the predominantly economic ethics aligned Applied Global Ethics Network and a member of the Bavarian Bioethics Commission and Vice President of the German Academy for organ transplantation.

He has been a speaker at the Science Forum 2007, the Süddeutsche Zeitung on " with Kant on the stock market " and is currently conducting research on " Values ​​and management ".
