Nikolay Antonov

Nikolay Antonov ( Николай Антонов Bulgarian, English transcription Nikolay Antonov, . Born August 17, 1968 in Razgrad ) is a retired Bulgarian sprinter and long jumper.

In 1988 in Budapest and in 1990 in Glasgow he won the silver medal over 200 meters at the European Indoor Championships. At the European Athletics Championships in 1990 in Split, he was over the same distance in fifth place.

In 1991, he won the 200 m at the World Indoor Championships in Seville and was seventh at the World Championships in Tokyo. The following year, he won over the same distance gold at the European Indoor Championships in Genoa and peaked at the Olympscihen Games in Barcelona the semifinals.

At the World Championships in Stuttgart in 1993, he left more than 200 m in the quarter-finals and was seventh in the long jump. At the European Championships in Helsinki in 1994 and at the 1995 World Championships in Gothenburg, he failed in the long jump in the qualification.

Twice he was Bulgarian champion over 100 m (1989, 1990), four times more than 200 m (1987, 1989-19991 ) and once in the long jump (1996). In the hall he was three times national champion over 200 m ( 1988-1990).
