Nikolay Chebotko

Nikolai Sergeyevich Tschebotko (Georgian Николай Сергеевич Чеботько, born October 25, 1982 in Schtschutschinsk ) is a Kazakhstani cross country skier.

Career

First race as a junior

His first international appearance was Tcherbotko 2000. At the Junior World Championships in Štrbské Pleso There His best result was the 25th place in the 30 km classic. In the 2003 /04 season Tschebotko won the first World Cup points. Over a distance of 30 km freestyle, he finished 22nd place in Dobbiaco. The Kazakh team he managed in La Clusaz with fourth place a moderate success. In the sprint competitions in Stockholm and Trondheim he could advance with number 17 and space 14 for the first time among the top twenty athletes a World Cup competition. In the season 2005/ 06 Tschebotko managed seventh place in the sprint in Oberstdorf in the World Cup for the first time to make it into the top ten. At the Olympic Winter Games 2006 in Turin, however, he failed to qualify for the final sprint. In the team sprint, he was together with Koschewoi sixth. 2007 succeeded in at the Universiade in Pragelato again the victory in the sprint competition. Also in the Nordic World Ski Championships in Sapporo 2007 he reached the finals, finishing in 19th place. In the team sprint, he joined again with Koschewoi. The duo finished in eighth place. In the 2007 /08 season Tschebotko launched at the Tour of the ski. He managed to reach the final run in the sprint in Asiago. He only had to concede defeat Northug and reached his first podium finish in an organized within the framework of the World Cup competition. After following the World Cup went rather mixed, Tschebotko started at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec. Drop in performance in 2009/10

After struggling at the start of the World Cup season 2009/10 with rear seats, he could again achieve a top 20 placement with the 17th rank in Dusseldorf in the team sprint. Return to the world top

The 2010/11 season began Tschebotko the FIS races in Muonio, where he barely drove past the sprint in fourth place on the podium. Then he started again in Gällivare in the World Cup and was on 19 in singles and with the ninth season. After he was able to ride in the sequence only rarely in the points, he ended his World Cup season before the start of the Tour de Ski 2010/2011.
