Nikolay Polyakov

Nikolai Polyakov ( born June 14, 1951 in Leningrad) is a former Soviet sailors Estonian origin.

Career

Polyakov retired early from his native Russia in the Estonian SSR, where he was active for SKA Tallinn in the Soling. Internationally, he made ​​for the first time attracted attention when he finished fourth with the Soviet boat at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal. 1980 was the most successful year of his career: in addition to the European title he won together with the brothers Alexander and Boris Budnikow Budnikow at the Olympic Games in Moscow the silver medal. In 1987 he was again with the Soviet Union European champion and won bronze at the World Championships.
