Nikolay Sidorov

Nikolai Aleksandrovich Sidorov (Russian Николай Александрович Сидоров, English transcription Nikolay Sidorov, . Born November 23, 1956 in Moscow ) is a former Russian sprinter and Olympic gold medalist, who competed for the Soviet Union.

Sidorov 1979 was a Soviet champion in the 200 m and 1980 and 1981 about 100 m.

At the Olympic Games in 1980, the sprinter from the United States were due to the Olympic boycott not at the start. Nikolai Sidorov came in the 200 -meter run anyway only to the semifinals. But in the 4 x 100 - meter relay, the Soviet quartet together with the Poles, the British and the French had at least one of the favorites. These five teams were the favorites at the European Athletics Championships in 1982 in Athens. In the finals of the 100-meter run Nikolai Sidorov was fifth in 10.32 seconds, the only representative of the Soviet Union. The relay in the cast Sergei Sokolov, Aksinin, Prokofiev and Sidorov won the European title in 38.60 seconds before the same time with 38.71 seconds teams from East Germany ( silver) and from Germany (bronze).

At the World Athletics Championships 1983 in Helsinki Sidorov eliminated in the 100-meter lead. The Soviet team in the cast Prokofiev, Sidorov, Murawjow and Viktor Bryshin won bronze in 38.41 seconds behind Italy ( silver in 38.37 ) and the relay from the U.S. who ran 37.86 seconds world record.

Nikolai Sidorov is 1,90 m tall and weighed 84 kg in his playing days.
