Nikolai Olegovich Scherdew (Russian Николай Олегович Жердев; born November 5, 1984 in Kiev, Ukrainian SSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has stood at HK Spartak Moscow in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Born in Kiev, Ukraine Scherdew started with ice hockey game at the age of four years in the hockey school of HK Sokol Kiev. Together with Anton Babtschuk he joined in 1999 - at the age of 14 years - to the Russian Elektrostal and joined the resident hockey club Elemasch Elektrostal to. In order to play in Russia, he had to accept Russian citizenship. In Elemasch he played in the 1999/00 season first in the second team in the third highest Russian league. Despite his young age of 15, he knew with 17 points from 21 matches Scorer quite convincing. CSKA Moscow and changes in the NHL (2002-2004)

Lockout and return to the NHL (2004-2009)

Due to appease the lockout of the NHL season 2004/ 05, and to the leaders of the army clubs, Scherdew returned in the summer of 2004 back to HK CSKA Moscow. Internationally

Scherdew who owns next to the Russian and the Ukrainian citizenship, in 2003 represented the Russian national team at the U18 Junior World Championship 2002 in Slovakia and U20 World Youth Championship in Canada.
