Nilesat

Nilesat is an Egyptian company that operates several communications satellites and associated ground stations. The company Egyptian Satellite Co. was founded in 1996, the headquarters is located in Madinat as- Sadis min Uktubar ( 6th of October City ). The largest shareholder is the State Egyptian Radio and Television Union with 40%. In 2010, the company achieved a turnover of 126 million U.S. dollars and a profit of 30 million U.S. dollars.

Satellite

Currently Nilesat operates three of its own satellites, which are all located on the 7 ° West0 -7:

The satellites are controlled by two ground stations, which are located at the company headquarters in Madinat as- Sadis min Uktubar and in Al- Hammam in Alexandria. The uplink of programs is carried out by stations in Cairo, Beirut, Amman, Riyadh, Doha and Dubai.

From September 2005 to June 2006, Eutelsat Hotbird 4 was used at 7 ° W under the name Nilesat 103.
