Nils Blommér

Nils Blommér ( born June 12, 1816 in Blommeröd, careful, † February 1, 1853 in Rome, actually Nils Jakob Olsson ) was a Swedish painter who worked mainly in Paris and Rome.

Blommér started his career as a painter apprentice and began in 1839 at the Swedish Academy of Arts. In 1847 he received a scholarship Munificent, after which he moved to the School of Léon Cogniet to Paris.

Blommér was natural mystics and influenced by the currents of his time. The Romantics Geijer, Atterbom and Stagnelius had a great influence on Blommers work. For this reason, he painted several panels on the subject of elves, for example, " meadow elves " of 1850. Blommér was inspired by the Austrian painter Moritz von Schwind and its motifs from popular belief. Blommér was convinced that nature has a soul, which manifests itself in the mythical mythological creatures.
